Youth

Our youth seek the glory of God and the good of Durham.

Central Youth is a community of students learning to rest in Christ and living to glorify God for the renewal of all things in the city, for the world. Our chief goal is to come alongside parents as we seek to love, lead, and disciple students in grades 4-12.

Why Join Central Youth?

A community where students hear truth, ask questions, and have fun together.

Central Youth is a place for students in 4th-12th grades to be welcomed into authentic community, hear grace-driven truth, feel safe to question, invite friends, and leave feeling loved. We play games, eat good food, hear God’s Word, and do life together. It's our weekly youth group. 4th & 5th graders meet on Wednesdays, and Middle & High Schoolers meet on Sundays. Check out some of our upcoming meetings below!

Have questions about Central Youth?

Have questions about Central Youth? Check out our Parents' FAQ!

Is a sign-up necessary ahead of time?

Nope! We do check in when you arrive.

Can my student bring friends?

Always! We haven’t run out of pizza yet!

What should I do if my child has a dietary restriction?

Email any of our youth staff, and we are happy to make sure there is food available for them!

Why is 4th & 5th Grade Central Youth 30 minutes shorter than Middle & High School?

We end at 7:30 for 4th and 5th graders because we believe that is the sweet spot for them. Once they enter middle school, talks and small groups become a little longer.

What do other parents do during the time their students are at youth group?

While we don’t have any formal parent hangouts scheduled, we would love to encourage you to invite a fellow parent to hang out while you both wait, or use this time however you see fit! Many parents go grocery shopping or get extra work done.

Can my student’s sibling come?

While we love your whole family, we strive to keep the youth group limited to those in the respective grade levels represented.

Ministry Safe

At Christ Central Church, we take our responsibility to care for children and youth very seriously. We want to make sure that we are creating and providing the safest environment possible for our Central Youth and Central Kids. We aim to create an environment that is loving and nurturing where students can grow in their relationship with Jesus but in a space where it is clear what safe ministry looks like.

We want to do everything we can to proactively protect our students, volunteers, staff, and church. Leaders go through the policy with their ministry directors, participate in different trainings including a sexual abuse awareness training, and sign a document saying they have read and agree with the policies and have completed all trainings.
