Repair is a service-based ministry addressing the restoration needs of our congregation, neighborhood, non-profit partners, and public property. Repair provides direct assistance when called upon for repairs, restoration, construction service, and low-income housing. Repair also offers restoration education, handiness training, and woodworking classes for youth and families.
If a member of our congregation or community needs assistance with repairs, restoration, moving, lifting, or other household chores, we are here to help. Repair was founded to assist with low-income housing needs. And that is still very much the heart of our ministry. When something breaks, it can be very lonely and anxiety-inducing to begin the process of repairs. We want to ease that burden by stepping into the area of need in those moments.
We are looking for individuals and families to help us place another round of paint on the interior of the home, lay the new vinyl flooring downstairs, and move furniture. Families ages 10 and older are encouraged. Creation Care will be organizing a day of gardening at the residence for younger volunteers.
In order to equip this ministry with the ability to provide direct assistance, Repair is holding a tools and hardware fair. We have a need for everything from screwdrivers to the screws themselves, from paint brushes to power tools, and from table saws to storage bins. If you have any unused tools or hardware please consider donating them to Repair at our upcoming drive on October 6! We will be collecting at the Connect table between and after services. Thank you for considering repurposing any of your old tools or hardware!
