Circles of Support is an extension of the diaconate’s calling to mercy ministry and our strategy for addressing long-term mercy needs in the city. This ministry provides interdependent relational support for individuals and families in crisis situations by pairing volunteers with professionals.
We are simply humans doing life together, because we love one another as Christ has loved us. The Circles of Support model builds on years of Christian and secular research on the best methods by which to sustainably partner with an individual on their walk towards resolution of their crisis situation, and ultimately, restoration of self through Christ. If you are in need of a Circle of Support, please fill out the form linked below.
Circles of Support is in need of more volunteers. This is a high engagement ministry, requiring interaction with a circle seeker 1 - 2 times per month. We also seek to place volunteers into circles that are well aligned with their given interests, time, talent, energy, and equipment. It is for this reason that Circles of Support uses the metric of “capacity” to match volunteers with circle seekers.
Capacity is the sum total of one’s time, talent, energy, interest, and equipment. Our sign up process will ask you to think deeply about your capacity during the matching phase.
Circles of Support seeks to be equipped to intervene when called upon in a crisis situation. These situations frequently require basic household items such as washing machines, dryers, microwaves, clothes, hygiene products. If you have a common household item available for donation, please schedule a drop-off by emailing Matthew Madonia, Director of Engagement.
