Thanksgiving Meals and Coats Drive

Join us as we provide Thanksgiving Meal Kits and Winter Coatsfor families at our partner school, C.C. Spaulding Elementary.  We hope to collect meal kits for 40 families and distribute them the Thursday before Thanksgiving (Nov 20). We also hope to collect as many coats as possible!

We are looking for donations of coats, meal kit supplies, grocery store gift cards ($40 each), and volunteers. Please sign-up to help!

If you choose to donate a coat - all sizes needed, especially larger, boys sizes - drop them off at the church on Sunday, Nov 16.

If you choose to buy a gift card (prefer Food Lion or Wal-Mart please) - drop them off at the church on Sunday, Nov 16.

If you choose to supply a meal kit, please plan to bring them to the school (1351 S Roxboro St) on Tuesday, Nov 18, between 8:00am-3:00pm.  Meal kits include:

• Boxed Stuffing
• Gravy (canned)
• ‍Cranberry sauce (canned)
• Boxed potatoes (mashed, scalloped, etc)
• Canned vegetables (corn and green beans are favorites)
• Cornbread or biscuit mix
• Boxed dessert (brownies, cake mix, etc) + oil
• Aluminum roasting pan

These kits should aim to feed a family of 5.
Please pack all these items in a brown paper bag for easier distribution.
We plan to include the $40 gift cards in the bags for a turkey, produce, or other fresh items.

If you'd like a hands-on volunteer option, you can:
- help collect the coats on Sunday Nov 16 and bring them to the school the following day, Monday, Nov 17;
- help organize the meal kits at the school on Wednesday, Nov 19, so they are ready for distribution the next day.
