Advent at Christ Central
The King is coming! Jesus Christ has come and will come again. This is the hope of the Church whom He purchased with His blood. Jesus’ coming is the eager expectation and desire of His people. It is our joy because He is our treasure and greatest good. This is the theme of “Advent,” formed from a Latin word meaning “coming” or “arrival.” It’s the traditional celebration of the first advent of Jesus in humility and the anxious awaiting of His second advent in glory. The season is a time for remembering and rejoicing, watching and waiting. November 27th marks the beginning of the Advent Season. Lessons and Carols // November 30th 6:00 pm
Join us as we are ushered into the season of Advent through scripture and song that point to the coming of Christ. The service will be short, less than an hour, and will be an excellent opportunity to prepare all of our hearts to expectantly await the birth of our Lord Jesus.
Christmas Market // December 10th 1:00 pm
We are excited to host our seventh annual Christmas Market, a one-day, low-cost Christmas shopping event for families in the Durham area. Meeting the needs of our community through affordable gifts parents can purchase for their children is a crucial way to be for the good of Durham.
Central Youth Not-So-Silent-Night Christmas Party // December 14th 6:00 pm
Central Youth will be wrapping up the semester and the Advent season by hosting a Christmas Party. Providing dinner (hopefully a cereal bar) and games. Our hope is that the youth invite their friends to hear about the birth of Christ.
Mingle and Jingle // December 17th 5:00 pm
Save the date for Mingle and Jingle on December 17th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the church! We strongly encourage everyone to participate in what will be a fun night of warm drinks, heavy Hors d'oeuvres, jazzy Christmas music, activities for kids, and Christmas carols! Be sure to invite your friends to join us on the lawn! Don't worry we will have heaters for this outside event!
Christmas Services
This year our Christmas Eve Services will be on Saturday, December 24th, at 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. On Christmas Day, a Sunday, we will have just one service at 10:45 am.
