The Advent season officially begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and continues until Christmas Eve or Day. There are a variety of ways to celebrate the Advent Season, depending on tradition and background. We have adapted an Advent guide to help you and your family move through this season as one example of a way to observe this season as a family. You can view and download that guide here: 2016 Advent Guide.

Youth Holiday Party - December 11

Durham Christmas Market - december 17

The Durham Christmas Market is a one-day, low-cost holiday shopping event for Durham families with limited financial means. It gives parents an opportunity to give Christmas gifts to their children and honors their dignity by letting them do the shopping themselves. Would you be willing to partner with us either by donating gifts or your time? The market will be held on December 17th from 10 am - 2 pm (we need volunteers from 8 am - 3 pm) at the Hayti Heritage Center. To sign up to volunteer visit the event page by clicking here

We are asking all gifts be donated by December 10th - you can either drop them off Sunday mornings in the wrapped boxes or bring them to the Christmas Party! Gifts should be new and unwrapped and valued between $10 - $50. You can shop for children any age from 0 - 18 (we are asking for gift cards for teenagers 13-18 in the amounts of $10 - $50 from Target, Walmart, Best Buy & Big Lots). To learn more information visit the Event page here: Durham Christmas Market.

Join us Christmas Eve from 5:30 - 6:30 pm at Hayti for our lessons and carols service that will conclude with the lighting of candles.  A limited number of childcare spots are available for children ages 0-2. Please sign up here and we will contact you if we are able to open it up to more ages.

Christmas Eve

We will hold a shortened family-friendly Christmas Day service from 10 am - 10:45 am at Hayti. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and will stay in the service!
